The American comedy The Intern, written and directed by Nancy Meyers , stars Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway . The protagonist is a 70-year-old widower who works as a senior intern for an online fashion company. The problem is that Ben Whitaker (Robert De Niro), who believes retirement will be too repetitive, applies to a program for senior adults who wish to intern.
